The Supreme Court decision on Affirmative Action was a fair one

in

The Supreme Court of the United States found that The admissions programs at Harvard College and the University of North Carolina violate the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment.

I think it was a good decision.

You can not judge an individual by what group they belong to or the color of their skin.

The fourteenth amendment says that all Americans have equal rights. The fourteenth amendment does not give some preference of some groups over others.

This decision will affect corporate America and governments.

Allowing race-based college admissions is racial discrimination. Is discriminations because you are favoring one group over another based on the color of their skin.

Corporations and government institutions will have to dismantle all the loan programs created to favor blacks and brown people. All the racial quotas for middle and upper management will have to be taken down.

To be honest, even though I am a Latino, a minority, I don’t feel comfortable with all the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programs going on. To me, in corporate America, the only relevant question should be: “Can you do the job?” If yes, you can be considered for a position; if not, then you should not be considered. Period.

I am also tired of the ESG movement. ESG is a social agenda forced upon businesses. I believe in the thinking of Milton Freeman. The purpose of business is to create value for its shareholders. I don’t believe that a business should get a higher score because they have more women, gays, or racial minorities on their upper management or their board of directors.

I am a shareholder of many companies. When I look at my portfolio, I consider each stocks based on whether if it’s making my portfolio go up or down. If the stock is bringing my portfolio down, I sell it. If it’s bringing my portfolio up, I keep it.

I congratulate the Supreme Court on a fair decision that give equal protection, equally, to everyone. No more protections to some groups over others.
