This is a video interview with Jy Nanda, a business coach, event planner, speaker, and now a writer, co-author of the book On Her Plate.
Jy’s Catalyst to self-improvement
Jy Nanda had a comfortable life. She had a steady job and a steady relationship. She was so comfortable that she stopped caring. She gained weight (230 lbs) and she didn’t make any effort to continue improving on herself.
When she had a breakup with her partner, she cried, and then she took a look at herself in the mirror. She decided to become a better version of herself, she embarked on a Journey to Self Improvement.
The Self Improvement process
Jy started working on herself through exercises, healthy eating, meditation, decluttering her space, facing and dealing with her emotions, and sharing her journey to encourage and motivate others to embark on a similar journey.
The book: On Her Plate
The book is a compilation of short stories from different female authors who are: retired nurses, nutritionists, biology majors, personal trainers, and everyday women.
It explores exercise regimens, common obstacles women face, and female hormonal issues and cancers. The book dives into women’s mindset, the epidemic of busyness, and how confidence or lack of it influences their eating habits.
It also has a strong focus on health experiences, with many recipes such as soups, pasta, and chocolate chip muffins. The recipes stay away from eggs, dairy, or any animal byproducts. It’s a way to be good to the body while being compassionate with the planet and its animals.
The book is the brainchild of Ky-Lee Hanson from Golden Brick Road Publishing.
