America, from Patagonia to the North Pole, was colonized by the European invaders who imposed the Christian religion on the whole continent, oftentimes by killing those who refused to convert.
However, for the first time since the arrival of the colonizers, the Christian religion is losing its grip on the United States population. A recent poll by Gallup shows that religion is less and less important to its citizens. For the first time in history, less than 50% of the population are interested in religion.
And the fastest-growing religion is the “nones” the people who claim they don’t follow any religion.
The research shows that between about 20% and 25% of U.S. adults are now “nones” and that this percentage is higher among younger adults than those who are older.
I think that as technology advances, and people become more educated, fewer and fewer people believe in ghosts and spirits, and believe more in the miracle of technology and human ingenuity.
