He wrote “Surviving Remote Work” in the wake of the COVID crisis in order to help businesses not only survive but actually thrive in this new environment.
How To Work From Home
The biggest challenges for an employee to move from an office to a remote environment is:
- The possible deterioration of the mental health
- The loss of social interaction
- The loss of the office/business culture
But the great things are:
- You are saving a lot of time by not having to go to the office
- You are saving a lot of money by not spending on transportation, restaurants, and clothing
- You are more productive because you have fewer distractions
You need to be proactive with your social experiences.
In a world without Covid-19, you have to schedule lunch with friends, Happy hours with friends, etc.
You need to treat your social experience as if it was part of your business because it is.
In the same way, you book your business meetings on the calendar, you need to book your social experiences.
It requires a bit more proactivity.
During Covid-19, it’s a bit more challenging to have a social life. You can’t go for lunch, but you can go for a walk. You can buy a snack and eat it in the park with a friend, it’s not as bad, we adapt to the new circumstances. There a few solutions to maintaining a semblance of social life. Covid-19 is temporary.
