How To Leverage Your Finances To Support Your Health

Leveraging your finances to support your health is one of the most sensible decisions you can make in your life. However, you’ll need to be strategic about it. There’s no point in going guns-blazing. 

So, what should you be doing?

Emergency Health Savings Fund

If you’re living paycheck to paycheck, your first priority should be to build up an emergency health savings fund. You want to ensure that you have enough of a cushion to reduce stress whenever emergencies crop up (which they will). Knowing that you have some finances you can fall back on is always helpful, and it means you have money for essentials, like food, even in a crisis. 

Invest In Learning

Using your money and spare time to financially educate yourself is also an excellent idea. You could explore diverse loan programs designed for every borrower or simply read books and courses that increase your knowledge. 

You could also be more proactive, for example, by hiring a health coach. These individuals can assist you in your health journey and provide expert consultations on what you should do next. Often, they have a wealth of knowledge and understand the connections between various lifestyle factors to enable you to pursue excellence. 

Find Ways To Enhance Longevity

You can also use your money to invest in various longevity strategies. These attempt to modify aging biomarkers without requiring you to engage in intense exercise or spend your life drinking green smoothies. The effects can be profound. 

Sometimes, finding a nutritional program can be helpful. These provide structured  plans you can follow immediately instead of having to work through the research yourself, which is time- and energy-intensive. 

Invest In Alternative Therapies

Another approach is to invest in alternative therapies. These complement existing healthy established practices but attempt to augment them and make them better. For example, you might consider putting some money into hyperbaric oxygen therapy, a well-known method for improving animal health (especially after injury). You could also spend money on things like red light therapy panels or saunas in your bathroom. These biohacking methods are well-known for their rejuvenating effects and how they operate throughout the body. 

Invest In Your Sleep

You could also use your money to invest in higher-quality sleep. The better you can rest, the more likely you are to get the healing activities you want from your biology. 

For example, you could consider investing in black-out curtains to block out light pollution that can disrupt sleep, especially in cities. 

You could also put money into sound insulation if you live in a busy area with motorcycles going up and down your road all day. These cut out sounds from the outside, allowing you to rest no matter how much noise everyone makes. 

Sleep supplements, like valerian root, may also work. However, the evidence that they have a systemic effect is more limited. 

Check Your Mental Health

Finally, check your mental health. Putting money into this (by perhaps working less), can be highly beneficial for some people.
