Chris Mamula achieved Financial Independence at age 41. Now he’s helping others achieve the same goal with the publication of his book “Choose FI: Your Blueprint to Financial Independence.”
He’s also the author of the blog Can I Retire Yet.
Chris was a physical therapist. After a few years, Chris found his job very repetitive and non-inspiring. He couldn’t see himself doing the same work for 40 years, so he started looking for a way out.
Along the way, he discovered outdoor adventures, and he realized that the things that gave him lots of please didn’t cost lots of money.
Also, his wife became pregnant, and he was the big catalyst for him to look for ways to work less and spend more time with the family.
Financial institutions were failing him to reach his goals. All of them had a conflict of interest, selling him financial products with high commission and high management expenses. Instead, Chris moved to low-cost index funds with MER of .005%.
On his frustration of inadequate financial help, he started reading blogs and listening to a podcast about early retirement. That’s how eventually he found the podcast Choose FI.
