About Annabelle Williams
From Annabelle’s LinkedIn profile: National newspaper journalist from England, editor, broadcaster, and content manager with nearly 15 years experience.
My specialism is business, finance, and economics. Over the years I’ve spent time reporting on virtually every niche of those broad categories, so you can ask me about anything from pensions to commodities markets, the housing shortage to Chinese macroeconomic policy.
I’ve held senior editorial roles where my work has been under intense scrutiny and held to the highest standards of accuracy and accountability; including deputy editor, news editor, features editor, investigative reporter, and most recently, as a senior reporter and writer of two weekly columns at The Times.
As a writer and broadcaster, I’ve worked extensively for both consumer audiences (the BBC, Daily Mail, City AM, Vogue) as well as finance professionals (Citywire, Reuters, The Times, Investment Week).
I frequently appear on the radio and TV. Credits include Sky News, The Big Question (BBC One), Women’s Hour, Radio Five Live, BBC Breakfast, and BBC Radio Wales. I also spoke in the House of Lords regarding women’s pensions, on behalf of the Fawcett Society.
My first book, Why Women Are Poorer Than Men and What We Can Do About It, was published in early 2021 by Penguin Random House following a ten-way auction. It takes a gendered lens to economic inequality and uncovers the shocking truth about why women are disadvantaged in every part of our lives that touches on money – from entrepreneurship to pensions, state benefits to healthcare.
